About Us

Matt & Chelayne met in 2013, and cultivated love quickly! They were married in 2015. They have three children, Jaelyn (17) (Chelayne's step daughter), Landon (3), and Logan (1). From the moment you meet them, you will feel how passionate they are for family and creating a business centered around those values. 

In 2015, they bought a house with land. Chelayne had worked with horses most of her life, and Matt had a passion for projects. Not long after moving their personal horses to the land, a lesson client where Chelayne taught lessons asked about boarding. At first, it was a definite no as boarding is a lot of work! But then, they couldn't pass up the opportunity to help out the student and pay horse bills. Intending to just have the one, they didn't think too much about it. Then another client asked, then another and then another! All within about 6 weeks. It was already becoming more than they had expected. Of course students wanted lessons on their own horses, so that started as well. Then Chelayne reentered the show world and students wanted to do that too! So before they knew it, Springhill Stables was a full time job with boarding, training, showing and lessons. Chelayne quit her full-time job and Springhill Stables was born. 

They moved to a larger Springfield property in 2020 right before the pandemic. There were challenges doing it during the pandemic, but they had great help. The first two weeks they built an arena, over 2 miles of fence, built a tack room, painted an entire house, moved horses and equipment, etc. It was a lot of work! But so worth the larger property.
